| Hawkfeather curled her tail neatly over her paws as she settled down by the motionless, glossy pool of sparkling water beside her.She cocked her head slightly to the side and spoke in a smooth voice, "Why,Stormsoul I'm flattered to know you admire my beauty.."

"DuskClan eh? They're always uptight about the slightest things." Redsoul's whiskers twitched and his bottom lip curled with agitation,"Those fur-balls act as if they're a patch of thorns..so stingy and annoying."

| Stormsoul purred in amusement, smiling at his mate. "You know I always admire your beauty Hawkfeather." He dipped his head to the water, lightly lapping up some of it as the dawn sun traced colors of oranges and pinks on the surface. "Your as beautiful as a sunrise and a sunset." He grinned, clearing enjoying his comparison. He sat in silence, listening to his mate and staring into the water at their reflection. After a long moment and much thoughtful thinking, he let out a small sigh. "Poor Redsoul." He breathed out, glancing at his mate to see if she would further question him. _______________________________________________
Leafstar laughed, cuffing her mate's ears playfully. "They are quite like thorns, always stuck in your paw pads!" She grinned, musing over his words for a few more moments. "The cats will be waking up soon and the day will begin. I'm going to start by heading out with the Warriors and Apprentices to help them with their group assignment. Then it'll nearly be sunhigh by the time we get back so I'll be showing the kits some harmless moves. After that I'll enjoy my own time and hopefully get a nap in before I talk to Greenwing. Maybe by dusk I'll have my own time!" Leafstar let out an amused purr, smiling at her mate.
((Indeed, thou art slow! ;D))

| Hawkfeather blushed and gazed at the horizon through the trees, her sky blue eyes beginning to shimmer in the glowing light. "And for you my dearest one, your looks and flaws are ever so attractive and handsome to me." She purred loudly,"But what matters to me the most is what's in your heart." She whispered and nuzzled her head against his warm neck-fur. After a few heartbeats of peace, she heard her mate let out a defined sigh. "Storm, what's bothering you?"

"Well after all of your duties are completed,I"m sure you'll be knocked right off your paws with exhaustion." He snickered softly and gazed at her. "But I know you can do it.You're certainly a loyal leader,Leafstar." He smiled and breathed in her sweet scent as he pressed against her warm pelt. "I'll be sure to have a little reward waiting for you when you wake up from your nap." |

| Leafstar purred happily, pressing her own muzzle into Redsoul's fur, silently sniffing in his own sweet, rustic scent. "Thank you Redsoul." She grinned, her face still buried into his pelt, her tail-tip resting on his shoulder. Part of her still felt wrong for accepting Redsoul as a mate, though she brushed it aside, knowing she'd never go farther than being apprentice crush-types with him. Leafstar held in a sigh, putting on a happy face as she pulled away from Redsoul, her ears catching movement in the Warrior Den. "While, time to begin our duties." She let out an amused, tired, yet happy voice as she sarcastically told him that. ________________________________________
Stormsoul smiled, licking his mate's cheek to relax her. "Just an assortment of things." He huffed out, gazing up at the sky. "Mainly for Redsoul." He spoke again, dropping his head and looking into his mate's blue eyes. The sparkle in her eyes calmed him a bit, making him smile. "It's just that I feel bad for my old friend. The four of us have been friend's for a long time." He choked a bit on the word "four", remembering Leafstar's brother, Sparrowkit and how he had died from a rockfall in the Stone Forest. Stormsoul looked back out into the Stone Forest before shaking his head with a smile and looking to his mate. "I just feel bad that Redsoul may never be able to experience love like we do." He completed his long thought, shortening it to the point. |

| Redsoul nodded cheerfully after her as she left his side. He stared at her longingly as she disappeared from his gaze,"I've got to do better..I know I can,if only I wasn't so shy." Redsoul grumbled quietly to himself and swiftly collected himself up and trotted out of the stirring camp. The young tom paced through the towering trees, headed in the direction of SunClan territory. With his good eyesight,he managed to make sure he kept far from the border lines that separated the two clans. He placed himself humbly down in front of a thick birch-wood tree to sharpen his claws and ponder on some nearby thoughts to himself.

Hawkfeather frowned slightly at his words and slouched partially as she lowered onto her haunches. "I did have a small gut-feeling that I kept to myself as this all unfolded." She murmured,"..something kept growling that it wouldn't work out,I'm fearing that Leafstar will be too occupied as leader to serve her clan the same as she has been to give her full on attention to him equally..imagine the day when she'll have kits." Hawkfeather grunted as she struggled to get comfortable, finally as she stretched her whole body, she rolled over onto her side and looked down. "I'd bite my tongue if I sounded rude for not being so supportive to my leader and best-friend,for I certainly don't intend to but.." Hawkfeather's words slurred as water before her caught her attention. The silly young she-cat poked the surface of the pool with her paw and watched the ripples lap against the shore contently. "..but I guess we'll just have to hope for the best," She suppressed a deep breath,"and wait and see what happens."

| "I agree my mate, I just hope that things work out for the two." Stormsoul sighed, thinking things over for a few more moments before changing the subject in an amused tone. "Speaking of kits!" He laughed, nuzzling his mate's flank and licking it tenderly. Stormsoul gazed about the water, watching it ripple from Hawkfeather's touch. He grinned, a rebellious glee taking over his features. He stuck his paw into the cool water and cupped it, flinging it onto his mate as he jumped away from the splash quickly. ______________________________________________________________________
Leafstar watched her mate disappear on into the forest through the entrance and she too turned her head to watch the Warriors who were going training today stumble out. "Good morning Leafstar." The senior warrior Birdwatcher greeted her leader humbly, stepping aside her and heading to the Apprentice Den to awaken the apprentices. "Good morning Birdwatcher." Leafstar returned the greeting, nodding to the tired Warriors as they emerged. "I'll be at the River Grounds waiting." She told the Warriors, going into a steady trot out of the camp. _______________________________________________________________________
"Gorgepaw! Frozenpaw! Moonpaw! Wake up! It's time for group training with the leader! You don't want to keep Leafstar waiting, do you?" Birdwatcher had stepped into the apprentice den, her voice in a mocking, threatening tone. "Yeah, yeah, we know. We know." Frozen paw had stumbled onto his paws, pawing his denmates to awaken them. Birdwatcher simply nodded at him, leaving the entrance after seeing the apprentices awake. After a few more minutes of waiting and discussing; Frogtooth, Flametail, and Birdwatcher watched their apprentices join them at the entrance to camp. "Ready guys?" Flametail's voice was flat, obviously not too excited about waking up so early. "Totally! I'm ready for everything!" Moonpaw had taken up her usual cheery disposition and wagged her rump excitedly at Frogtooth. Frogtooth gave her a small smile, encouraging her awareness. Once ready, the Clanmates left the entrance and headed to the River Grounds. _______________________________________________________________________
Leafsong paced her way steadily towards the River Grounds, she passed some shrubbery and stopped, breathing in. "My mate's passed through here recently." She smiled, purring a little before continuing on towards the River Grounds. Leafsong paused as she heard the gentle lap of the river on the sandy shore. Smiling, the she-cat slipped onto the river shore and felt at the sandy hollow, quietly sitting in the middle as she thought back to her days as a younger cat. "Leafpaw, I bet you first pick at the fresh-kill pile that you can't step into the river without getting dragged away!" The sneer of the older tom apprentice made Leafpaw growl at him. "Your on Frogpaw! I can go further than your lousy paw-deep steps!" She retorted, turning her head angrily towards the river. As she approached the river, a shiver ran up her spine. Letting out a shaky breath, Leafpaw encouraged herself. "You can do this Leafpaw, it's just the regular old river, it's just a bit more uppity today." She smiled, slightly more braver thanks to her thinking. It had been a rough leaf-bare, and a wet Newleaf to follow. Snow had begun to melt faster with the warming climate, causing the river to overflow and become more rough and dangerous - causing small little white waves! The apprentices had been daring each other to step foot into the water to test each other's bravery, though it was a terrible way. "Anytime now LeafTIMID!" Frogpaw laughed at his own stupid joke and Leafpaw growled, stepping her paw bravely into the water. The sudden rush of cold water caused Leafpaw to jump back, sending Frogpaw in a fit of giggles. This time, Leafpaw had trudged into the water, digging her feet into the squishy earth. Leafpaw had far passed Frogpaw's record, up to almost her belly in the rushing water. "Ha! I get first pick Frogpaw!" Leafpaw sneered at him, watching as he hung his head in anger. Turning to leave Leafpaw realized she could not move her paws and she had begun to sink into the soft earth. "Oh no! Help! I-I'm sinking! I'm gunna drown!" She mewed out, the other apprentices gathering at the shore. "Leafpaw!" Hawkpaw's terrified screech was heard and then replaced suddenly as her mouth opened again. "Leafstar?" The voice was seemingly worried and a bit confused. Turning around, Leafstar realized her Warriors and Apprentices had joined her on the sandy ground. "Oh hello Birdwatcher, and everyone." Leafstar smiled, shaking her head free of the memories as she greeted the group. "We had come up behind you and said hello, announcing our presence and you didn't respond. We were worried." Flametail told her, his voice sincere. "Oh yes sorry, I was just remembering the time Frogtooth and I, as well as some other apprentices had dared each other into the river at it's dangerous peak! The time I had gotten stuck and Cloudstar had to rescue me!" Leafstar laughed and was joined by her Clanmates, although Frogtooth's laughter was meek and nervous. "Anyways, shall we begin? I thought starting off with some battle training first would be good?" After getting the consent from the group, the seven of them began. |
